Quercetin is a plant-based flavonoid with a polyphenolic structure. Although its antioxidant effect has been proven repeatedly in scientific studies, its bioavailability—that is, its usability by the body—is quite low because its solubility in water is poor.
Starting from this problem, we conjugated Quercetin with a special carrier system. Thanks to this conjugate we developed, the penetration of Quercetin into the cell was increased, and it was experimentally proven that it could exert its effect at a molecular level. This work did not just remain at the laboratory level; it turned into an invention registered by the European Patent Office.
